Claude Couture (born in 1956) is a historian and writer. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Couture completed a PhD in history at the University of Montreal in 1987 and has been in Edmonton, Canada since 1988 as a professor in social sciences and Canadian studies. Since the beginning of his career he has been interested in the theme of modernity studied from different aspects: urban history, architecture, political and economical history, social sciences theories, critical analysis of the theories of postcolonialism, critical analysis of the theories of nationalism.
